An email client built for reading.
Your mailbox contains several types of email: conversation that may or may not need a reply, longer form writing like newsletters, and receipts/records that only really matter if something goes wrong. Most clients treat all of that as one big messy todo list.
Serif is an email client for Gmail that treats them differently.
You’ll still have your Inbox for conversations and regular email. The Reader keeps your newsletters and other long-form reading in an RSS inspired layout optimized for reading these as clean articles. The Ledger puts your receipts and other records in order (and out of your way).
On reading at the end of the day
The trouble with reading in a mail client is that a mail client is a room built for finishing things, and reading is the one thing you do slower on purpose. Somewhere between the archive key and the unread count, the essay you meant to sit with became an item, and items exist to be cleared…
For my fellow keyboard nerds, there’s a shortcut for everything so you can navigate your inbox with speed. You can use your newfound leisure time to catch up on some of your favorite newsletters in the Reader.
Serif will be a paid subscription. You are the customer, not the product. No ads, no selling your data, and no training models on your mail.
